Child safety standards

MEETWIN — EDELEY · Combating child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE)

MEETWIN applies a zero-tolerance policy towards any content, behaviour or attempt involving child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This document sets out the standards we apply, the preventive measures in place, the reporting mechanisms available to users and our reporting obligations to the authorities.

1. An adults-only app

Meetwin is a dating app restricted to people aged 18 or over. Registration by minors is prohibited by our terms of use.

  • Date of birth is mandatory at sign-up and anyone under 18 is refused.
  • The app is distributed with an adults-only rating on the App Store and on Google Play.
  • Any account we find or suspect to belong to a minor is suspended immediately, then deleted after verification.

2. Prohibited behaviour and content

The following are strictly prohibited on MEETWIN and lead to permanent deletion of the account concerned:

  • any image, video, voice message or text depicting, describing or suggesting the sexual abuse or sexual exploitation of a minor;
  • any solicitation, approach or sexualised contact directed at a minor (“grooming”);
  • impersonating a minor, or creating a profile representing a minor;
  • distributing, promoting, exchanging or linking to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including towards third-party services;
  • sextortion, blackmail or the distribution of intimate images without consent, whoever the victim is.

3. Prevention and detection

  • Age verification at sign-up: date of birth is required and checked server-side; access is refused below 18.
  • Automated profile photo analysis: every profile photograph is analysed by Amazon Rekognition before publication. Sexual or explicit content is rejected automatically.
  • Face detection: the facial recognition service used for the lookalike feature returns an age estimate, used as an additional signal to spot profiles likely to belong to a minor.
  • User blocking: any user can block another user at any time, which immediately ends any possibility of contact.
  • Human review: every report is reviewed manually by our moderation team.

4. Reporting a child safety concern

A reporting mechanism is available directly in the app, on every profile and in every conversation:

  1. Open the profile or conversation concerned.
  2. Tap the actions menu, then Report.
  3. Select the matching reason (underage user or inappropriate content), then describe the situation.
  4. Submit the report.

You can also write to us at any time at contact@meetwin.fr with the subject “Report — child safety”.

5. How reports are handled

Child safety reports are treated as the absolute priority:

  • review as soon as possible, and within twenty-four (24) hours at the latest;
  • immediate precautionary suspension of the account concerned where the report is credible;
  • removal of the content and permanent deletion of the account once confirmed;
  • secure retention of the evidence required to report to the competent authorities;
  • a permanent ban on re-registration for the person responsible.

6. Reporting to the authorities

MEETWIN complies with all applicable laws on the protection of minors, in particular French law and European Union law. Where content or behaviour involving child sexual abuse or exploitation is identified, we report it to the competent authorities:

  • the PHAROS platform of the French Ministry of the Interior (internet-signalement.gouv.fr);
  • the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable law requires it;
  • any judicial or administrative authority with territorial jurisdiction, upon request or on our own initiative.

We cooperate fully with investigators and respond to their lawful requests within the required deadlines.

7. Designated contact

The person designated for any question relating to our practices and compliance in preventing child sexual abuse material can be reached at: contact@meetwin.fr.

Requests from authorities, app distribution platforms and child protection organisations are handled as a priority.

8. Updates

These standards may be updated to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable regulation. They complement our privacy policy.
